Back in my high school daze I had this girlfriend. Stop Laughing! Her name was Erin. Probably the only girl I ever had as a girlfriend back then. While I was in Chile, she at some point joined the Church of Scientology. Later after getting home we reconnected, and she told me what was going on. I was uneasy about it mostly cuz I'd never heard any good about that particular church. The more I hear the less I like it. After several years of talking on the phone and continuing our friendship, she tells me that she had gotten married, and low and behold started having children. (her doctors had said she would never have them as she had something wrong with her girl parts) I was really happy for her. Then one day she tells me that she is going to quite doing counseling for them and stay home and raise her children. The labeled her a problem, and started bothering her a lot. Then I lost track of her, the phone was disconected, I couldn't find any of her family that knew where she was etc. I kinda figured she may have bugged out of there to escape.

Today out of bordom at work, I decided to look her up. I figure most everyone is on the net some how, and maybe I can find her. I think I have...

There is a discussion group for people who have escaped the Church of Scientology, and in one of the discussions they are talking about a prison camp where the church holds people that they have labeled problems. They are under armed guards, kept in very bad conditions, and forced to do hard labor and undergo interrogations daily till they agree to stay in the church...

My friend Erin's name is on the list of people being held there, where ever it is. It seemed as if it was here in CA, in Southern CA.

I don't know what to do. I feel I should do something, this was an important person in my life, who I cared a lot about. I just don't know what to do...

Talk to the people on the discussion group.

This sounds wrong and horrible, and I'm sorry you (and Erin) are going through it.

Is there a group like Amnesty International that can help? I may be wrong, but I find it impossible to believe that the "church" is so powerful that they can do this...

Woh! Sounds like something straight out of a movie script. That's scary... Sounds like kid_lit_fan has the right idea - look into groups like Amnesty International or someone that can help. I too highly doubt that the church is that powerful.

Good luck!

Wow.

Any chance the authorities don't already have this info? Any chance contacting them could help?

Private search/rescue takes big bucks, even if you had decent information; those places likely wouldn't talk to you unless you knew someone in that business.

...

I don't know. Other than magic on her behalf, I can't think of anything else.

But I will light a candle for her safety and freedom, and your clarity and peace.

I have no advice. Blessings to you both.

The Church usually hides behind contracts and other legal bindings to get away with crap like this. They will say she volunteered for this and show documentation to prove it (regardless of the validity). Amnesty International is a good start but I don't know how much they can help.

Another option would be to locate friends with military backgrounds that might be willing to perform a search and rescue run. Just give the details and don't ask any questions about how it gets done.

Look up "Operation Clambake" it had some excellent resources. It is going to be really difficult to find her and contact her. Be careful when talking to people on the discussion group. Scientologist sometimes monitor those boards. They also consider anyone who disagrees with or criticizes them "fair game'. Please be careful. I have a lot of info on this. PM me and I'll fill you in

You're a witch. Do a reading on the situation, and if appropriate, open up some magical whoop-ass on it.

I would think that contacting people in the group you listed might be a good move. I will pray for her. Please let me know if I can do anything else.

Can you contact her family and get some confirmation?

Also, you might want to contact the sheriff department of the county where this facility is supposed to be. They may just be waiting for someone to file a complaint.

Failing that, there's a lot to be said for showing up with a couple friends with camcorders and demanding to speak to her.

A quick search found this...

http://www.escapeint.org/index.html

Also found that the Church of Scientology has their international headquarters on 500 acres outside of San Jacinto, CA. This could be the same place of the camp if it really exists. But, as it's owned by the organization it might be hard to get someone out of there.

Held against their will huh? If it's here in CA, we can go in and get her.
